Yoga therapy
Yoga therapy is a one-on-one tailormade yogic approach to optimal health and wellbeing. As a certified and registered yoga therapist, I will support, guide and encourage you in this process, addressing your specific needs and wishes.
What can you expect?
Yoga therapy involves an extensive intake. Through an interview and a postural, movement and breath assessment, we’ll create a comprehensive picture of your individual situation and any imbalances you wish to address. We’ll discuss your health history, energy levels, lifestyle and general mental and emotional state. Together we’ll develop realistic goals and a plan to help you achieve them.
In our sessions, we will implement various techniques such as movement, breathwork, intention setting, relaxation and so on. We may look at certain lifestyle choices and their role in fulfilling your goals. You will learn to become better attuned to your body’s signals and to respond accordingly. Often we know deep down what we need. It is my job to support you in rediscovering this.
Yoga therapy is not an alternative but a complementary therapy to modern medicine. Any ailments or imbalances are viewed through the lens of evidence-based medicine along with the ancient wisdom of yoga therapy models and tried and true protocols. We work in harmony with any medical treatment you might be undergoing.
Feeling physically, mentally and emotionally well is an active pursuit. Our intentions, choices and actions all play a part. It is possible to have a positive influence on our situation and our reaction to it.
