Yoga
My yoga classes are relevant to a modern lifestyle with all of its comforts and pleasures as well as its fast pace and high expectations.
We explore postures and movement, breathing practices, simple meditation techniques and relaxation. The approach is influenced by my experience as a former professional dancer and my studies in anatomy, physiology and therapeutics.
In each class we work around a particular theme, developing not only greater knowledge but also a deeper felt experience in the body. I am interested in why we do certain practices and how we can use the effects to our advantage. The skills learnt can be directly applied to everyday life off the mat.
Regular students notice improved bone and muscle strength, greater flexibility, ease in the joints, better breathing habits, a calmer mind and better focus just to name a few of the many benefits.
